Wedding Wednesday// Our Venue
As long as I can remember I have dreamed of a beautiful outdoor ceremony! Finding a venue that was beautiful, but within budget was going to be quite the challenge. This was the first “big” check I wanted to take off of our wedding to-do list. I explored a lot of venues online, but we only toured one!
I only have great things to say about Oakland Farm! The event manager, Kaitlyn, was my saving grace in all of the COVID wedding nonsense! We never would have been able to have the wedding we did if it was not for her help and understanding. If you’re in NC (or not!) I would 100% recommended Oakland for the perfect outdoor, barn wedding!
Matthew & I decided to have our ceremony underneath the pavilion. It was the perfect way to get married outdoors, while still having a cover for the rain (thank GOODNESS – it ended up moonsooning on our wedding day!) and have a little shade and fans in the June heat!
Our reception was held inside the barn. So pretty! I loved the open floor concept, the fireplace, and the antler chandelier. This space was perfect to spread our guests out COVID style, and still have room for dancing and our buffet!
One of my favorite parts of the property was the Farmhouse. My mom, sister, bridesmaids, and I spent the weekend there! It was the perfect place to get ready and be secluded away from everything happening at the venue that morning. We were greeted with beautiful flowers and a sweet card when we arrived on Thursday, and had all the great amenities of a full house throughout the weekend.
To make the venue even better, it is a real, working, farm. There are horses and Galloway cows on site. SO precious! My favorite was Trump – he even made a special appearance in my Bridal Portraits!
Our wedding weekend was perfect because of Oakland Farm. From the last minute COVID changes, all the way to letting us postpone our ceremony by 30 minutes to get out of the rain, Kaitlyn and Oakland were 100% on team Matthew & Brittany. I am forever grateful we chose a great venue!
