Wedding Wednesday// Our Honeymoon
Before crazy COVID, our plans for our Honeymoon were to stay in Kiawah Island and drive to Charleston a few times. We were both so excited! We wanted to do all the touristy things, but with all the restrictions that seemed almost impossible. So we decided to cancel. For a while we went back and forth on if we were going to go anywhere. At the last minute, like the week before the wedding, my Dad found the cutest little cottage in Southport, NC. We decided that would be the perfect little getaway and that we would find time some other time to make it to Charleston once things calmed down.
We drove down Sunday afternoon and ate leftovers from the reception for supper that night. We sat on the front porch in the swing and people watched that night. Our cottage was right by the water and we could walk to everything! That night while browsing what was on TV we ended up watching Christmas Vacation, ha! No idea why is was on, but we enjoyed watching it. Christmas and a honeymoon – what more could a girl want!
Monday we got up and drove to Oak Island for a day on the beach. We packed a lunch and laid around on the beach until mid-afternoon. After that, we headed back to the house and got ready for dinner. We decided to eat at Provision Company, a huge recommendation from everyone who had ever been to Southport. It was so yummy and we had the prettiest view on the water! We both got burgers and fries and then shared chicken tenders. That after wedding hunger is real! After that, we got ice cream and went for a walk around downtown and sat on the swings by the water for a while.
The next day after we checked out, we ended up crashing our best friends vacation and hung out with them on the beach and went back to Provision Company again that night!
Our mini honeymoon was exactly what we needed. Nothing fancy, just enjoying our first days as husband and wife. I can’t want to go back! Here are a few pictures we snapped from the trip!
